How it works

Escape the Gate runs on two things: good weather and good company. There's no calendar to keep up with and nothing to maintain. When the conditions line up, an invitation lands in your inbox — and you decide if you're in. Here's how a drive comes together.

1. Someone spots a perfect day. We don't drive on a fixed schedule — we drive when the weather's right. Somebody keeps an eye on the forecast, and when a beautiful day appears, the wheels start turning.

2. A destination and a route take shape. They pick somewhere worth the drive — a mountain overlook, a lakeside town, a back road that's more fun than the place it leads — and lay out a scenic route, a meet-up spot, and a roll-out time. If lunch is part of the plan, they reserve a table big enough for the group.

3. The invitation goes out. A few days ahead — and short notice is the point, because that's how we catch the best weather — you'll get an email with the destination, the route, where and when to meet, and the lunch plan.

4. You tap a button. Coming along? One tap on "Count me in!" and you're on the roster — no forms, no fuss. Not feeling it this time? No problem. There's always the next one.

5. Meet, caravan, enjoy. Gather at the meet-up spot, drop the top, and roll out together. We caravan to the destination, regroup along the way if need be, and make a day of it — usually with a good lunch at the end.

When you join

You'll tell us a little about your ride — your car, whether someone is usually riding with you, and the best way to reach you on the day. That's all it takes, and it just helps us keep the caravan together.

Want to lead one?

Here's the fun part: the organizer can be anyone — including you. Know a road worth sharing or a destination we shouldn't miss? You can be the one who calls the next drive. Just say the word and we'll help with the rest.

No club, no dues, no meetings. Just good drives on good days.
